Round 1 - Lakeside - Race 2

Race 2 had battles throughout both the Get Chopped 6 Litre class and the Blaze Batteries 5 Litre class. The 2nd race of the day saw the crowd around the track grow with spectators, lining the main straight and Hungry corner fantastic to see so many out to enjoy the racing at Lakeside today.

After technical issues at the end of race 1 John English in the no.11 Firebird was on a mission, passing the no.69 of Anthony Tenkate and then less than a lap later the no.20 Firebird of Palmer once out in front he was unstoppable, leading the rest of the way to take the win. A failed overtake on Palmer left Anthony Tenkate with a 30 second penalty relegating him to 4th. Palmer recovering from an excursion off track, a result of the failed over take from Tenkate. Chris LaRosa taking 3rd in the no.3 Mustang.

Further down in the field the fight was on with Mike Collins in the no.22 Mustang getting the jump on both Gareth Jones no.66 and Tricia Chant no.35 it wasn't made easy for Mike, Jones and Chant keeping the pressure on til the end of the race. Ron Prefontaine was again too fast for the rest of the 5 Litre class maintaining a gap from the battling pack behind and taking the 5 Litre class win, followed by Mike Collins and Gareth Jones.
